Laurel Marana is a multimedia artist living in Sacramento, California. Guided by her lucid dreams and eclectic spirituality, her art process is also a procedure in magic. Regarding art making as an act of conjure, Marana conceptualizes surreal works as a tool for transmuting consciousness. Her dream-form sculpture imagery constructs a bridge between our known reality and our nonverbal subconscious, altering familiar objects to become bizarre uncanny artifacts.

Marana has been a multimedia artist her whole life, and has always been intrigued by spirituality, dreams, and the metaphysical. She developed her spiritually integrated art practice in college, graduating with a BA in Studio Art (with a concentration in sculpture) from Sacramento State University in 2016. From costumes, to sculpture, performance art and puppetry, Marana utilizes any medium to convey an intended concept.
